Swansea City FC paid tribute to co-owner Snoop Dogg with a guard of honour before their match against Preston. The American rapper, who is a minority owner alongside Martha Stewart and Luka Modric, made his first appearance at the Swansea.com Stadium. The visit was highly anticipated, drawing a record crowd of 21,000. Snoop Dogg, who had just returned from the Winter Olympics, where he served as Team USA's honorary coach, arrived early and requested fans be seated to twirl complimentary towels, a tradition in American sports. As a special treat, 20 young Welsh players formed a guard of honour, twirling towels as rock music played. Dressed in the club's all-white colours, with a Swansea crest on his jacket, dark glasses, and a beanie hat, Snoop took a lap of honour, greeting fans, shaking hands, and posing for photos. The club mascot, Cyril the Swan, even got a hug. He then disappeared down the tunnel, leaving the stage set for a light show before the match began.
