A Tale of an Unruly Guest at Disney World
Imagine a peaceful evening at Disney Springs' Polite Pig restaurant, a place known for its charm and hospitality. But on this particular night, a 61-year-old New Jersey tourist, Mr. Stephen DiGiovanna, turned it into a chaotic scene. The reason? A simple refusal to leave after being cut off from alcohol.
The incident began when DiGiovanna, seemingly highly intoxicated, started yelling and throwing things. The restaurant staff, unable to manage the situation, called for law enforcement. When the deputy arrived, DiGiovanna was at the bar, arguing about why he had to leave. He refused to understand that it was private property and the restaurant had the right to refuse service.
"But here's where it gets controversial..." DiGiovanna was served water instead of alcohol, which upset him. The deputy tried to explain the situation, but DiGiovanna kept refusing to leave. He was given multiple chances, but his belligerent behavior continued.
"I placed Mr. DiGiovanna under arrest for trespassing," the deputy wrote in the report. "He was given numerous opportunities to leave, but he chose to remain and cause a disturbance."
And this is the part most people miss: Disney World, despite its magical reputation, sees its fair share of crime. Every year, numerous individuals find themselves in trouble with the law for various reasons, from excessive speeding to attacking employees, and, as in DiGiovanna's case, public intoxication.
So, what do you think? Is this just a case of an over-served tourist, or does it highlight a larger issue of alcohol-related incidents at Disney World? Feel free to share your thoughts and opinions in the comments below! We'd love to hear your perspective on this controversial topic.
