Blu-ray Sales Analysis: 'The Long Walk' Dominates, 'Superman' & 'F1: The Movie' Strong! (2026)

The Long Walk Marches to the Top: A Surprising Turn in Blu-ray Sales

In the week ending November 29th, it's clear that Lionsgate Home Entertainment's adaptation of Stephen King's The Long Walk (2025) has taken the entertainment world by storm. This film, adapted from King's novel, debuted at number one on both the Blu-ray and UHD charts, leaving audiences and critics alike intrigued.

The Long Walk's journey to the top is an inspiring tale. Despite opening in fourth place in September 2025, positive reviews and word-of-mouth buzz propelled it to gross over $35 million domestically and a whopping $60 million worldwide. This week, it dominated the HD market with a 72% share, with a significant portion of sales coming from the 4K UHD format, which is exclusively available as an Amazon SteelBook until December 23rd.

But here's where it gets controversial... The Long Walk's success seems to have trampled on the latest installment of The Conjuring franchise, The Conjuring 4: Last Rites. Despite featuring fan-favorite actors Patrick Wilson and Vera Farmiga as paranormal investigators Ed and Lorraine Warren, the film opened to mixed reviews and has sold only 85% as many Blu-ray units as The Long Walk.

And this is the part most people miss: The Conjuring 4 may have topped the box office with over $84 million, but it seems audiences are more inclined to invest in the high-quality home media experience offered by The Long Walk.

Other notable mentions include Warner Bros.' Superman (2025), which soared to the top of the box office in July 2025 and continues to sell well on Blu-ray, and F1: The Movie, a racing drama produced by Apple Studios that became both Apple's first box office hit and the highest-grossing film of Brad Pitt's career.

As for the top sellers across all home media formats, The Conjuring 4: Last Rites takes the lead with a 55% market share, followed by The Long Walk with a 72% share in the Blu-ray market.

So, what do you think? Is The Long Walk's success a sign of a shift in audience preferences towards high-quality home media experiences? Or is it just a fluke? We'd love to hear your thoughts in the comments!
